Converting the Living Room!

Well after all of the wonderful toys the little man got for Christmas we have decided it was time to convert the living room over to Aiden's Play Room! This was always the plan seeing how the furniture was from our first house and needed to be retired. After searching for many hours (ask Don and the computer) I found some great shelfs and had a plan set for the room. If you have scene the nursery you all know how much I LOVE decorating so this was a fun bonus since we wern't planning to do this until Summer. One of the shelfs is of course back ordered and after a trip to IKEA its half way there. If you have ever shopped at IKEA you know its great but god help you if you find everything you need the first time there. We need to go back to get the finishing touches but at least you can see some of the transformation! It is so much fun to see the toys and Aiden is actually loving those that make music and have lights. We will show you finished pictures once we get it all completed. Enjoy!

Winter Time!

Well I must say I am sick of the cold weather and feeling like I am always cooped up in the house! I can't wait for late Spring and maybe getting to ride my bike and get Aiden one of those things that hooks on to the back so he can ride along with! We have had a great month and Aiden's 4 month check up went well...minus the shots!!! He is in the 30th percentile for weight and height and the doctor said everything looks great. He is changing so much and smiles all the time now, occasionally rolls over (we are lazy these days) and even laughs! I can't believe how quickly these 4 months have gone bye. My dad has had many of doctor appointments this month and his cyst has actually grown a little. The doctors are not to concerned about it but while looking at this they have realized that one of his kidneys has shrunk quite a bit. They believe that is is no longer functioning so he goes for a procedure at the beginning of February. This will determine if it is viable or now a "quiet organ" its funny all this medical talk. Thankfully we can function with only one and hopefully this is an answer to his still very high blood pressure. I will keep you all posted as we get information...I know he is now strong and we will get through this.

Happy New Year! 2009

We decided that it would be fun to stay in a hotel over New Year's Eve so that Aiden could have his first swimming experience. Aiden absolutly loves bath time and being in the water that we thought this would be a great experience. Well the pool water was rather cool at the hotel and at first Aiden did ok but then he really did not care for the cool water. It was very fun putting him in his handsome trunks (thanks aunt Michelle) and the little swimmers. We can't wait for more pool time experiences and I am going to look into the YMCA to see when we can start a class together...lets hope their pool is a little warmer! Cereal Please!

Well we decided the day before Christmas that it was time to introduce Aiden to some rice cereal. Aiden has been a WONDERFUL sleeper since birth. He has blessed us with many hours between feedings and before his first round of shots was even getting up to 7 hours straight after his last feeding. Since then things have well changed. We we getting back to 4-5 hour stretches and then recently going back to 2-3 hour stretches. Now many people will tell you many different things about when its time to start but I think Aiden was letting us know that he was very hungry during the night. Aiden has been very strong since only a couple weeks old and has great neck and upperbody control. With all of this being said it was time to see what Aiden thought of the creamy white stuff!!! He actually did very good and ate several spoonfuls of the cereal. We are giving him a little in the morning and a little at night. You can see with his cute "First Dinner and First Breakfast" bibs that we were very excited for this transition. My goal is to keep him on this for a month then maybe start oatmeal next month after talking again to his pediatrician. So far so good and we are hoping with this and the new formula that Aiden is a happy and very full baby!

Christmas 2008

Well we have really enjoyed our time together over break. Don took all of this week off and we have really loved spending all of this time together. Next week will be a reality check as we both head back to work and get back into our "normal" routine! Christmas was really wonderful and we were so excited to have Aiden here with us. His first Christmas went very well and he did great at both my family and Don's family parties. Christmas Eve was spent at our house with all of my side and Christmas lunch was spent here with Don's parents, Mark and Michelle. It was very nice to be with all of our family and we can't believe that last year at this time we were barely pregnant with little Aiden and didn't even know it yet! We hope everyone had a great Christmas and wish all the best in the new year.
