8 Months Old!

Thanks for the cute trunks Aunt Shell!

Do I have to wear this?

Look at me I can help now!

So Big!

"Eight is Great" I can't believe how quickly these 8 months with our little man have gone. All is well with Aiden and many first are really starting to occur. We are now helping hold the bottle, sitting up very well while we play, reaching for things that are not by him, and getting very vocal -we even hear mama, dada, and baba! Aiden has been busy getting his teeth-3 so far, and is starting to get that we go forward in the walker, and most recently we had our first family boat ride! Aiden did not enjoy the life vest really but once we started moving he quickly drifted off and enjoyed a nice nap while we cruised up and down the river. We are very excited for this summer and him getting to experience fishing and swimming...and even Riley came along! I am really looking forward to school coming to an end so I get to be a stay at home mommy for the summer! 5 days and counting!

Teeth, Teeth, Teeth!!!

So Handome!

Here let me help you out mom!

All I want for spring is my two bottom teeth!

Well we noticed white in Aiden's bottom gum line but could not really feel anything. So after a rough week of some loss of sleep and a couple crabby moments....we popped a tooth! Our first one came on May 13th, then low and behold on the 16th we popped our other bottom front tooth. As if that was not excitement enough a week later...the 23rd we popped one of our top teeth! So needless to say lots of Motrin and cold teether's have been in use the past 2 weeks! We are so excited for this milestone and look forward to introducing finger-foods now that we are getting some teeth to chew with! It was quite the challenge to get a good picture of them because he really wanted to chomp down on anything that went in the mouth...or play with his tongue!

Mother's Day 2009

Me and my little Man!

So Cute!

Look at that smile!

Mother's Day 2009

I can't believe my first Mother's Day has come and gone. We spent the day together at home then we went over to Don's parents house and my parents met us there and we had a family cook-out. It was a nice peaceful way to spend the day and the food was delicious! It was neat to reflect on last year eating brunch with everyone being pregnant wondering what this day would be like. My mom gave me my newborn blanket last year on mother's day and Aiden was wrapped up in it on this day (of course I didn't get a photo of it). It is so neat to have him here and the fun I am having being a mom is beyond words. I have to say I think I am a great mom because I had the best role-model to go by...thanks mom! I can't help to think of next year's Mother's Day and I have to say I am so excited that Aiden will actually be able to say "mommy" that will be the best gift of all!

Happy April!

April has come and gone quite quickly! April is a busy birthday month in the Abbott household. I am still in shock that this is my last year of my twenties...yes that is hard to believe. And Don hit the big 30 this year as well. I know this has been harder on Don than me and it is quite fun to joke that he is in his thirties while I am still twenty something! Here are some pictures from our special days...yes I threw Don a 30th Surprise Party and it went great! I can't believe that were all grown up now! Having Aiden here was the best gift of all and I know that his impending first will be the best party yet!

Trying New Things!

Trying a sippy cup for the first time...didn't really know what to think of it! Aiden got that something was in it and that it was suppose to go to his mouth, however getting it upright was tricky. We will keep working on this!
The lovely sweet potato puffs! Well he knew this was new but didn't know what to think of something that wasn't liquid or very soft being in his mouth!

Happy to try at first but kept pushing it out of his mouth with his tounge! We got some great laughs from the faces that he made. Another thing to keep introducing to him. Maybe it will be easier when he gets some teeth... if they ever come!

Putting real food into the mesh "thing". I am not sure what the actual name of this is but it works wonderfully to introduce soft food items to Aiden. I can't wait for school to be over so I can venture into other foods other than bananas. It is a riot to listen as he sucks the mesh to get to the food!

The Abbott's Easter 2009

I realized that I couldn't fit all that I wanted to share so here are some more pictures of our little man's First Easter. Yes dad I did have my son in lime green pants!

Happy Easter!

Aiden's First Easter went very well. My side of the family joined us for a great lunch and it was nice just spending the afternoon with everyone. Aiden looked very handsome in his Easter outfit and enjoyed getting passed along to all of my relatives. Don and I dyed eggs as Aiden looked on and he seemed to enjoy all of the bright colors. The weekend before Easter we took Aiden to see the Easter bunny at Woodfield Mall (yes they have a brown bunny that was too cute) and he did great and no tears! I am told that this will probably be a different situation next year...there could be some tears but I guess we will wait and see. I can't believe how quickly all of his "firsts" are coming and going and how fast these 7 months have flown bye. Aiden had a great Easter and we were so happy to have the Holiday to spend with our loved ones. And yes you will notice the clubs my mom and dad got Aiden to match his outfit...yes we are hoping that he is the next Tiger Woods!!!!!
