Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Well after all we are a little bit green here in the Abbott house celebrating St. Patrick's Day! Aiden enjoyed his Irish wardrobe that mommy dressed him in very much (ok let's be honest I loved dressing him up in all of his outfits). He had quite the fun with his singing puppy that my mom got at the gift shop at Swedish American....it sang "Celebrate good times come on". It was fun seeing him giggle at the dog as it moved and the green mug lit up! St. Patrick's Day was also very special because it was the official day that Aiden turned 6 months old. My how time is flying by. I have to say I shed a tear that night thinking about how quikly mommy's little boy is getting so big. We did enjoy some sweet peas so that Aiden had some green fun on his special day...and mommy enjoyed some other green things as well (you know what solids do to the diaper right?)!!!!!

Play Room Complete!

Well after one more trip to IKEA the living room is now officially Aiden's play room! The curtains need to be hemmed but other than that and 2 missing green chairs (I know he won't need these for awhile) all is done in the front room. I am very happy with how things turned out and it is quite bright, inviting and fun to be in. Notice the train table that Don's parents got Aiden for Christmas...he LOVES watching Thomas go round and round the track. It is so funny that he just sits there so content watching the train whistle as it goes by. Riley also loves the train table and is always knocking over things with her wild tail. Aiden and I love singing and dancing to music and reading many stories in his room and we can't wait for him to use all of the wonderful toys that are in his play room.

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!

Ok so I am taking advantage of being on Spring Break and updating the blog...I know it's been awhile! Taking care of an active 6 month old is VERY busy at times! Well those of you especially that teach know that Theadore Seuss's Birthday was the first week of March and of course it is a big deal in my kindergarten classroom and I thought I would let Aiden take part in enjoying some of his stories! Thankfully Khol's also honored Dr. Seuss by having some of his books and animals as part of their book special. Please note my personal favorite onsie that I found that says "Little Squirt" those of you that have delt with little boys know why this one is my absolute favorite! Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss.... we love how you rhyme!

Enjoying Eating Solids!

Well we have had a great time watching our little man eat his veggies! Aiden first started with sweet potatoes and then moved on to squash, sweet carrots, and then sweet peas. We first tried bananas yesterday and the jury is still out whether he likes them or not! It is great how naturally this has come for Aiden and he opens his mouth real big when he sees the spoon coming and swallows with no problem! It is also quite funny how he looks at the microwave now and smiles when it goes off letting him know his food is nice and warm and ready to be eaten!

February Fun!!!

February has come and gone...can't believe it. Well we love that the groundhog saw his shadow and has given us 6 more weeks of winter. Silly groundhog! Since the rice cereal has gone so well and we are trying to honor our doctors recomendation of waiting till 6 months to intro food we started some oatmeal to change things up. Aiden really loves the oatmeal and has really accomplished the basics of spoon feeding. He takes it all in and swallows like a pro. We can't wait till mid March to intro the sweet potatoes. During February Aiden realized that he can vibrate his lips and started to smack them together. This is quite cute and he absolutly loves when you do this at him. We have really enjoyed bath time as well and are now in the big boy tub (I had a hard time letting the sink go but lets be honest he did not fit in there anymore) and love kicking all of the water out with our little legs. Aiden enjoyed his first Valentine's Day and of course had some cute outfits to go along with this holiday. As February was ending we really see signs of teething: constant hands in mouth, runny nose, and TONS of drool!!! I guess we will see in the next month if our instincts are correct!

January 4 Months Old!!!

Ok so I am quite behind with updating the blog. Those of you with little ones understand. So excuses behind January flew bye. I thought I would recap some of Aiden's milestones from January...they included a First Sleep over with Nana and Grandpa Reynolds (we had a wedding to attend) so that was more a milestone for mommy! We really started laughing, it is quite cute because even when he really gets going it is such a soft and sweet laugh. I think he was doing it for awhile before I realized it was his actual laugh. He really started to use his bouncer and jumper and really is liking it. The funniest thing that Aiden started to learn is that he is the one actually making these strange "man grunts" and is starting to realize that he can make them soft or quite impressively LOUD!!! A great milestone which Don and I both missed was Aiden rolling over from his back to his belly, this was during his aunt Michelle time on a Tuesday morning. I am happy she got to witness this especially since he shows NO interest in doing this again! Here are some gym shots and jumparoo time.
